A Hertfordshire childcare group has made a generous donation to Hatfield food bank after collecting vital items.
Playschool Nursery, which has sites in Harpenden, St Albans and Welwyn Garden City, has been collecting donations to give to the Trussell Trust food bank in Hatfield, providing support for people from Hertfordshire who are in crisis.
Kevin and Lauren, who make up part of the nursery's staff wellbeing ambassador team, have been key in driving donations for the food bank.
As part of a wellbeing initiative they introduced, the pair decided that they wanted to give something back to the community.
"After the committee shared their ideas with staff and parents, everyone was keen to get involved," Kevin said.
"We were overwhelmed with the generosity of the donations and hope they will help those in need in our local area."
In a post of Facebook, a spokesperson for Playschool Nursery said: "A big thank you to staff and parents for donating food for Playschool Nursery’s Giving Back Initiative.
"This mountain of food is being donated to a local food bank via the Trussell Trust to help local people in crisis.
"Thank you to our wellbeing ambassadors Kevin and Lauren, and all staff in the settings who helped to promote this."
