A Welham Green business has raised more than £5,000 for an epilepsy charity thanks to its go-karting event.
Contractor Pexhurst took over Rye House Kart Raceway in Hoddesdon for the racing extravaganza, which was the brain child of assistant site manager Aaron McElligott.
Aaron is a go-karting enthusiast, and he put forward Epilepsy Action to be the company's chosen charity for 2024, with staff agreeing.
"Epilepsy Action is a charity close to mine and my family's hearts, so I am really pleased that we have been able to support them as a business – combining a personal passion of mine with our Pro-People commitment at Pexhurst," Aaron said.
"We raised a significant amount of money for such a fantastic cause, while having a lot of fun in the process.
"It’s the perfect example of how you can use an opportunity to interact and engage with your supply chain at the same time as giving back.
"Our initial fundraising target was £3,000, so to have exceeded £5,000 is an amazing achievement and something we would like to thank our very generous supply chain partners for helping with."
On the track, Umberslade finished in first place, followed by Delta House in second and Pexhurst in third, while Aaron used his experience to win the fastest lap competition.
