A planning application has been submitted for a new food business in Welwyn Garden City.

The plans, submitted by Mr S Mohmand, propose a change of use for Unit 25 in Peartree Farm from a B2 light industrial unit to Class E hot food preparation and delivery business.

The application reveals little about the company that will be using the unit, but plans for the building include a kitchen area, office and delivery area, which could suggest it will be a takeaway.

The business will also be open every day from 11am to 11pm, and on bank holidays.

Plans also include the installation of an air system, and other appliances to be used in the kitchen, but little to no changes will be made to the exterior of the building.

The applicant is working alongside Welwyn Garden City-based architects Home Extension Designs in an effort to get the planning application approved.

Unit 25 in Peartree Farm is currently occupied by SJT Flooring.

Consultations for the proposal are open until July 29. To view the planning application, visit planning.welhat.gov.uk/Search and search 6/2024/1206/FULL.
