Hatfield's Folk by the Oak is set to see the world premiere of a new band formed by Seckou Keita.

Taking place at Hatfield Park on July 21, the festival will see Homeland Band, an eight-piece group founded by the Senegalese musician, perform live on stage for the very first time.

"Kora master Seckou Keita is a firm favourite of team Folk by the Oak, having thrilled our audiences as a solo performer, in collaboration with Catrin Finch, and as part of the Spell Songs band," said Emma Dexter, the festival’s marketing manager.

"We are always intrigued and delighted by his musical ventures and are over the moon that the first live performance of Seckou's new collaboration, Homeland Band, will be on our Main Stage."

On the Acorn Stage, festival favourite Beans on Toast will headline, along with performances from Heisk, multi-instrumentalist Cahalen Morrison and Lucy Farrell, who will be performing tracks from her long-awaited, solo album We Are Only Sound.
