Hello,

My name is Jean-Luc. When I arrived at Southridge I was in a sorry state. Very underweight, depressed and anxious because of the neglect and poor care I had experienced before I was rescued.

The love and nurturing I have received at Southridge is second to none. You wouldn't recognise me now, after good food, veterinary care and lots and lots of love.

I have metamorphosed from a sad, anxious, bedraggled boy into the fabulous, handsome German shepherd I now am.

I am a neutered male, seven years young - demonstrated by my enthusiasm for walks in the fresh air.

I am always ready and waiting with a big smile and my impeccable manners to have my lead and harness attached so I can stride out for a stroll around the fields, or a romp in the compound with my staff and volunteer buddies.

When I get back to my kennel, I love to be brushed, which keeps my coat shiny and smooth. This along with a few tasty treats just makes my day!

I have seen quite a few dogs come into the shelter and go onto loving homes, while despite my gentle and sunny nature I am still here waiting, something I can't understand as I am such a favourite with everyone, being so affectionate and well behaved.

I may not have had much formal training, but know the basics, like sit and I walk beautifully on lead, so I am really a pleasure to be with, and I am a bright spark so am eager to learn more.

While I don't mind the other dogs here at Southridge, and mostly ignore them when I am walking, I would prefer to be the only animal in my new home, and definitely want an adult only household.

I will also need my own private and securely fenced garden, large enough for me to play, sunbathe and potter around.

I have had such a bad start to my life, I think I deserve for the second half to be a happy ever after one, with all the comforts of home and family.

So if you think you fit the bill and can't wait to have this super shepherd in your life get in touch with Southridge.
