There are delays on the A1(M) and M25 near Hatfield today after a four-vehicle crash and flooding have caused a lane to be closed.
National Highways confirmed that one of the two lanes on the A1(M) northbound was closed between Junction 1 for the M25 and Junction 2 for Hatfield after the collision involving four vehicles.
Despite the clash being cleared earlier this morning, heavy rain has now flooded the carriageway, with the closure of lane one now expected to last into this afternoon.
"Our contractors are working to contain the water, but the lane closure is expected to remain in place for some time yet. There is no congestion on approach," National Highways East confirmed.
AA Traffic and traffic cameras appear to show that most of the delays are at Junction 23 of the M25, having tailed back from Junction 1 of the A1(M).
