One of the largest free vehicle shows in Hertfordshire will be motoring into the county town again next month.
Cars at the Castle 2024 will take place on Sunday, June 2 at Hertford Castle. This popular, family-friendly annual event will take place from noon to 4pm.
Set within the picturesque grounds of Hertford Castle, the motor show will feature an exhibition of more than 60 modern to vintage cars and motorcycles.
With live music, food and drink stalls and Hertford Castle open for the public to explore, there is something for everyone.
The new Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Rachel Carter, said: “This is one of Hertford Town Council’s most popular events, with lots for all the family to do.
"I’m really looking forward to seeing all this year’s exhibits and meeting everyone for a fun afternoon on the Castle grounds.”
New for 2024, in collaboration with British Cycling, the Island Lawn will be transformed into a mini 'Cyclo-Cross' track.
Designed for novices, visitors are invited to bring along their own bike and give it a try for free. Helmets are required and gloves are recommended.
Hertford-based business, Highway Cycles, will also have a stand on the Island Lawn with a selection of their electric bikes which visitors will be able to enjoy.
During the event, the Mayor of Hertford will be joined by the event sponsors, Gates Ltd and G3 Pro from Farécla, to judge and award trophies to the vehicle owners as part of the annual car competition.
The categories include best paint work, best interior, best post-1970 car, best pre-1970 car, best British and best foreign car.
Event sponsor Gates Ltd said: “Gates is delighted to be sponsoring 'Cars at the Castle' in Hertford and will be present on the day with a selection of new Ford cars on display.
"Gates’ events team is also excited to see the array of classic cars that will be exhibited and we look forward to meeting local car enthusiasts and awarding trophies during the day.”
Event sponsor G3 Pro from Farécla, based in Ware, added: “The Farécla team will be in attendance at Cars at the Castle offering demonstrations, guidance and expertise on paint rectification throughout the show.”
