Isabel Hospice is to host a remembrance event this summer.
The Welwyn Garden City-based hospice has announced details of its upcoming 'Celebration of Life' in-memory event, a family-friendly summer gathering for remembrance and celebration.
The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 9, at the scenic Ware Priory Gardens, marking the hospice’s first summer remembrance event in several years.
Attendees are invited to arrive at 3pm, with the event officially starting an hour later.
The afternoon will offer guests a moment to reflect and honour their loved ones by placing an in-memory seeded forget-me-not card on the Isabel Hospice memorial wall.
These seeds will later flourish in the gardens of the Isabel Hospice Living Well Centre, providing beauty and tranquillity for out-patients and supporters.
The event will feature live musical performances by renowned countertenor James Laing and the joyous Ware U3A Choral group, promising an uplifting backdrop to an afternoon of reflection and remembrance.
In addition to the live music, attendees can enjoy delicious cakes, cream teas, and are welcome to bring their own picnics to the gardens.
Lisa Bailey, In-Memory and Legacy Officer at Isabel Hospice, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, "While many in our community may be familiar with our winter Lights of Love services, this will be our first summer in-memory event in many years.
"We are delighted to offer a new opportunity to celebrate those no longer with us, under the sunshine, that we hope will become a cherished annual tradition."
To register for the Celebration of Life event, visit isabelhospice.org.uk/celebrationoflife, email Lisa Bailey at lisa.bailey@isabelhospice.org.uk, or call 01707 954827.
A suggested donation for registration is £15 per adult and £5 per child under 18.
All proceeds support the ongoing work of Isabel Hospice in providing compassionate palliative care and bereavement support throughout the eastern Hertfordshire community.
Isabel Hospice has been providing free palliative care to its patients and their families since 1982.
It provides support and care to people in eastern Hertfordshire who are affected by life-limiting illnesses through its Hospice at Home, In-Patient Unit, Community Team, Living Well with Isabel centre and its Family and Bereavement support service.
Isabel’s services are free of charge to those who need them, but they are not without cost, meaning £7 million must be raised each year to guarantee the future of care for Eastern Hertfordshire.
