The victim of a dog attack needed treatment for his injuries following an incident near the village of Newgate Street.
At around 4pm on Wednesday, March 13, the man had been walking along the track between New Park Road and Tyler's Causeway when a "medium-sized" dog jumped up and bit him on the thigh.
The animal has been described as a "tanned coloured dog" which was not on a lead at the time.
PC Lee Rowson said: "I am appealing for anyone who may have been walking in the area and saw the incident to get in touch.
“The woman who the dog belonged to was also walking black dachshund type dog that was on a lead.
