With the Easter school holidays right around the corner, there are plenty of family-fun activities to enjoy in Welwyn Hatfield.
We’ve rounded up some of the best things to do in the area this Easter.
1. Egg-citing activities in Hatfield Town Centre
On Tuesday, April 9, the White Lion Square will play host to a bumper day for children of all ages, with activities running between 11am and 3pm.
The itinerary includes a BMX track, Easter themed face painting and performances from the Booster Cushion Theatre, designed to encourage children to take a greater interest in reading.
2. Family fun in the fields
Xplorer sessions are a family-friendly navigation challenge that sees children and their families explore a park, searching for navigation signs and discovering facts about the area.
Two Xplorer sessions will take place during the holidays, the first on April 3 at King George V playing fields and the second on April 10 at Moneyhole Lane Park. Both sessions run from 11am to2pm.
3. Slapstick fun for the family at Campus West
Campus West will host traditional slapstick comedy and clowns, as well as other high octane performances.
The always popular Roller Skate Disco will also be running extra dates during the school holidays.
4. Nature-themed fun at the Mill Green Museum
The Mill Green Museum will be putting on a host of nature themed events for all ages over the next fortnight, including an appearance by the Easter Bunny on Saturday, March 30.
For older nature enthusiasts, there will be a talk on ‘gardening through the ages’ by historian Kate Harwood on the evening of Friday, April 12. For a full list of events visit www.millgreenmuseum.co.uk/.
5. A Roman experience
Every Saturday throughout the Easter period, you can take a trip back 1,800 years and hear about the Romans lived in Welwyn at the Roman Baths. Open from 10am to 4pm year-round, this is a perfect way to spend an afternoon this Easter.
6. Happy camping at The Hive
Based at The Hive in Hatfield, these camps offer multi-activity holiday programme for children aged between 6 and 12, with a mixture of sports, crafts and games. The camps are only available to families who are registered to receive benefits-related free school meals.
7. Splashlands
The award-winning Splashlands water park will be switching on its much-loved water feature this Friday, March 29 – just in time for the Easter Holidays.
The paddling river, water sprays and jets are surrounded by a wonderful nautical-themed adventure playground providing fun for children of all ages.
Access is free and the splash pad will be open every day from 10am-5pm, although be warned that there may be queues on busy days.
8. Free dance classes at Hatfield Swim Centre
