A road in Hatfield is closed and police are at the scene this evening after a collision.

Hertford Road is closed at the junctions with The Ryde, Lodge Drive and St Albans Road East following the crash, with motorist being asked to avoid the area.

AA Traffic are reporting that three vehicles were involved.

"We are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision in Hertford Road in Hatfield," Herts police confirmed. 

"Closures are in place at the junctions with The Ryde, Lodge Drive and St Albans Road East and motorists are asked to please avoid the area at this time.

"Thank you for your patience."
