A man from Hatfield has been charged with assault and drug offences after he was arrested in Stevenage.
Gary Crockett-Smith, of Chilterns, was arrested in Stevenage on Monday, February 19, and has now been charged in connection with two assaults and being in possession of a class B drug, namely cannabis.
The first charge relates to an assault which took place in Hatfield, where the victim, a man in his 50s, sustained stab wounds and severe facial injuries.
The second charge relates to another assault which also took place in the town, with the victim, this time a woman, left with substantial bruising.
The 34-year-old was wanted in relation to both incidents when he was arrested by officers from the Welwyn Hatfield and Stevenage Operation Scorpion Teams.
Upon a search under Section 32 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, a quantity of cannabis was located and he was arrested and charged.
Detective Inspector Bianca Broadbent, of Welwyn Hatfield Local Crime Unit, said: "We’re glad to share that this individual has now been arrested and charged.
"Crockett-Smith has been remanded in custody and will now be dealt with by the courts."
