Now, with residents both shocked and concerned about the knife crime, Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has moved to reassure people that despite these incidents, offences are still "rare".
"I know that these incidents will be of concern to the local community," said councillor Sandreni Bonfante, executive member for environment.
"Thankfully these types of events are rare in Welwyn Hatfield and I would like to reassure residents that we are working hard with the police and other partners through the Community Safety Partnership to tackle all forms of crime.
"I would also like to thank Hertfordshire Police for their swift action in making the arrests and I would remind residents to report any concerns they have to the police or Crimestoppers."
