The de Havilland Philharmonic Orchestra (dHPO) will embark on a novel exploration of Beethoven's repertoire at their upcoming concert, Beethoven Unwrapped, on March 24.
University of Hertfordshire's resident orchestra, dHPO, enjoys a rich legacy over 50 years marked by creativity under the direction of esteemed conductor, Robin Browning.
Beethoven Unwrapped features Beethoven's Coriolan Overture to open the first half of the programme, revealing the dramatic musical story of a 5th Century Roman general in signature Beethoven style.
Mr Browning will then delve into Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, directing the orchestra through musical examples and extracts that piece away layers of the classic work.
The concert concludes with a full performance of the musical repertoire, given a fresh perspective by the Orchestra, aimed at enhancing audience enjoyment and understanding.
The concert is set for 4pm at the Weston Auditorium on the de Havilland campus at the Hatfield-based University of Hertfordshire.
Tickets are priced from £15 to £6, with free tickets for carers and students of the University of Hertfordshire.
