Primary school children in Essendon were paid a visit by the police this week.
PCSOs Sam Griffin and Jo Woods of Welwyn Hatfield Neighbourhood Policing Team attended Essendon Church of England Primary School on Thursday, January 25.
Explaining their roles to pupils, the PCSOs discussed how they tackle local issues.
PCSO Griffin said: "The children were an absolute delight and they enjoyed getting to have a look around our police car.
"They even had a go at trying to hold our heavy police shields and tried on our vests.
"Visits like this are so worthwhile as it helps children to trust the police and learn what to do if they ever need us."
