Estate agents Savills has been appointed to under take a stock condition survey of council houses in Welwyn Hatfield.
The borough council appointed Savills to help identify areas of future investment to improve energy efficiency and ensure homes are well maintained.
Starting yesterday (January 22), surveyors from Savills began to visit council homes to assess the inside and outside of properties.
The visit will be non-invasive and will focus on looking at the structure of the property and installations such as bathrooms and kitchens.
The council encourages tenants to allow Savills to complete the survey as their participation will help identify any future work that might be required to improve their home.
Executive member for housing, Councillor Lynn Chesterman, said “I strongly encourage all tenants to participate in this survey. Your cooperation will help us identify any potential improvements or maintenance work that may be required in the future.
"This initiative is a testament to our commitment to the continuous improvement of our council homes. The council and Savills appreciate tenants’ help and understanding during this period.” Find full details of the housing stock condition survey, including a video about a what tenants can expect to happen during the survey and frequently asked questions, can be found on the council’s website by visiting welhat.gov.uk/stocksurvey.
Savills will write to tenants to arrange a convenient time to visit to complete the survey.
The visits will take place between 8:30am-5pm (Monday-Friday) and will last approximately 30 – 60 minutes.
