Plans have been submitted for a new 150-home retirement complex in Northaw.
The proposal, submitted by Swing Ltd, will see the bungalows and apartments built, as well as community facilities and landscaping, on the former Hook Estate and Kennels site off Coopers Lane.
The site will also offer 10 per cent affordable housing, leisure facilities, nature walks and an electric vehicle transport service to support access to the wider community.
Proposals also include significant habitat investment, tree planting and highly sustainable new buildings.
"We are very excited about our plans for Northaw Retirement Village," said a spokesman from Swing Ltd.

"It is crucial that more housing becomes available for our older generation - in the mid 2020s there were 1.7 million people aged 85 years and over, and by mid-2045 this is projected to nearly double to 3.1million.
"It is fantastic news that Welwyn Hatfield finally has a Local Plan, however currently supply for specialist older persons housing equates to only 250 homes, between now and 2036 which just isn’t enough.
"Our proposals will give local residents the opportunity to both downsize and stay local."
