Parts of Hertfordshire are experiencing a power outage amid extreme wind and rain caused by Storm Henk.

Postcode areas SG4 7, SG4 8 and LU2 8 have been impacted, according to UK Power Networks.

The UK Power Networks site says: "We became aware of this power cut at 17:12. We’re sorry for any disruption this may have caused you.

"We didn’t know in advance there would be a power cut, but now that we know, our teams will do everything they can to get your power back quickly.

"Engineers in our control room have switched some customers power back on in your area.

"To get everyone’s power back on we may need to attend to investigate and make repairs. We’ll continue to update you until everyone’s power is back on.

"We are experiencing significant fault volumes in parts of our patch as a result of Storm Henk. It may take us slightly longer to answer your calls but you can get the latest information from our power cut page."

It is estimated power will return to these areas between 10.30pm and 11.30pm today.
