An amber weather warning has been issued for Hertfordshire, with Storm Henk's 70mph winds set to batter the county today.
The Met Office is expecting strong winds between 10am and 8pm, warning of "disruption to travel and utilities", as well as a "good chance that power cuts may occur".
"A spell of very strong winds will affect parts of south west England and south Wales in the late morning and early afternoon, then parts of southern England, the south Midlands and East Anglia during the afternoon and evening," the warning reads.
"Gusts of 70 to 80 mph are likely on exposed coasts in the west. Inland, gusts of 50 to 60 mph are more probable, but perhaps briefly 60 to 70 mph in one or two places."
A yellow weather warning is also in place for rain between 8am and 9pm today.
"Further wet and windy weather is forecast for the UK this week," said Met Office Chief Meteorologist Paul Gundersen.
"Our latest analysis of the forecast shows an increase in the likelihood of very strong wind gusts across parts of southern Wales and England, which is why we have issued this Amber warning this morning and named Storm Henk.
"Storm Henk will initially bring very strong winds to the southwest of England and Southern Wales, with gusts of up to 80mph possible.
"As Storm Henk moves north-eastwards across the south of the UK through Tuesday the strongest winds will also move eastwards, across the south Midlands, Home Counties and East Anglia through the afternoon and evening."
