From a Labrador's serious infection to the opening of Hatfield Galleria's latest restaurant, it was a busy March in Welwyn Hatfield.
1. Hatfield man's warning after beloved Labrador's serious infection
In March, a man from Hatfield warned other dog owners about the dangers of grass seeds after his beloved Labrador was struck by a serious infection.
Mike Izzard - a popular member of the community who helped restore the abandoned Nast Hyde Halt station - saw his four-year-old dog Baz lose 20 per cent of his nose structure following an infection.
As for the cause of the infection, the vets believe one of two things could be to blame.
2. Former Roche building in Welwyn Garden City demolished
In March, the demolition of Welwyn Garden City's former Roche building took place.
Wrecking machines had been at work to clear the site, which featured a a large muscular building in glass and concrete, typical of the Brutalist style which was popular in the 1960s and 70s.
3. Welwyn Garden City sweets shop opens its doors
A new sweets shop opened its doors in Welwyn Garden City in March.
Herts Sweets is based at Unit 10A, Tewin Road Business Centre, Garden Court.
Made popular by TikTok, Herts Sweets was started when Kay wanted to do something that would make people smile.
4. Wagamama in pictures: Inside Hatfield's newest restaurant
A new Wagamama restaurant opened inside Hatfield's Galleria shopping centre.
The franchise joined Wagamama’s already established restaurants in Hertfordshire in Stevenage, Watford and St Albans.
Open seven days a week, the new restaurant opening created 62 new jobs, bringing Wagamama’s total to 156 restaurants across the UK.
5. Lemsford's Long Arm Short Arm pub closure announced
In March, the closure of Lemsford's Long Arm Short Arm pub was announced.
The McMullen & Sons- run pub announced its closure on March 10 - citing the economic climate as the reason behind it.
A spokesperson said: "With a heavy heart, we’re sad to announce that today is the final time we will be opening The Long Arm Short Arm's doors."
