A man from Welwyn Garden City has been charged with the use of a firearm and possession of a bladed weapon after being arrested last week.
Michael Forbes, of Welwyn Garden City, was arrested on November 17, and charged with the following offences 24 hours later:
- Use of a firearm with intent to resist lawful arrest
- Assaulting an emergency worker
- Going equipped to steal
- Possession of a bladed article
- Possession of cannabis
- Failing to provide a sample for Class A drug test

"I hope residents are pleased to hear this news. Forbes will now be in prison ahead of a court hearing on Tuesday, December 19," said Detective Inspector Bianca Broadbent, from the Welwyn Hatfield Local Crime Unit.
"We will continue working hard to keep you safe and I ask that you work with us by informing us of any suspicious behaviour and sending through anything captured on CCTV or doorbell cameras. If you suspect a crime is in action call 999 straight away so we can get to the scene."
