A man has been charged with weapon and drug possession after a stop and search in Hatfield.
Roland Whittaker, of St Lukes Court in Hatfield, was stopped by patrolling officers while riding an e-scooter through the town centre on Thursday, October 26.
The 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, and charged with possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a class B drug - namely cannabis - with intent to supply, riding an e-scooter without a licence, and riding an e-scooter without insurance.
Officers seized the e-scooter, as well as drugs, mobile phones and a quantity of cash.

"We know that e-scooters are a real concern to the public so I hope this news is reassuring," said Detective Inspector Bianca Broadbent, from the Welwyn Hatfield Local Crime Unit.
"This stop search has also meant that more drugs have been taken off the streets of Welwyn Hatfield.
"Operation Scorpion regularly carry out plain clothes patrols so this should be a warning to others. It’s not a case of if we catch you but when."
