There was a hive of activity in Digswell last Wednesday when a film crew descended on the area near Welwyn North train station.
It was to shoot a sequence for an independent feature film, a romantic comedy which will tell the story of a young woman who ventures on five blind dates to find the ‘one’.
One sequence filmed in Adele Avenue showed the main character storming off towards the station after a row with an ex-boyfriend. In another shot she was filmed on her mobile as she walked along.
Around 60 people were involved on the day, with technical trucks lined up where commuter vehicles usually park on Harmer Green Lane and stop-go traffic management in place during shooting. Adele Avenue was closed to traffic for the day.
A local resident said: “There has been a real buzz about the place since all the trucks started arriving to set up in the morning. It has been fascinating to watch how the process works, seeing how much work goes into creating even a short sequence.”
Other areas in Hertfordshire are being used as locations for the film, details of which are yet to be announced.
