Hertfordshire Philharmonia Orchestra is playing their first concert of the season in Potters Bar later this month.
The concert will take place at St Mary's Church in The Walk, Potters Bar at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 21.
The first half features Nicolai's 'The Merry Wives of Windsor' overture, Dvorak Slavonic Dance No.2 and the Reinecke Flute Concerto featuring Hertfordshire Philharmonia's principal flautist Melanie White.
Melanie was born in London and attended Trinity College of Music. With three decades of experience, she has performed in a wide range of orchestras and is the solo flute in the Royal Marines Association Concert Band, recently performing with the world-renowned Treorchy Male Choir in Wells Cathedral.
The concert concludes with Tchaikovsky Symphony No.1 'Winter Dreams', all under the baton of conductor Martin Smith.
Martin was awarded a scholarship to study violin and conducting at the Royal Academy of Music and has been a professional violinist for many years, working with many of the country's foremost chamber orchestras.

He returned to conducting in recent years, was appointed artistic director of Enfield Chamber Orchestra in 2008 and in 2016 became artistic director of the Richmond Orchestra.
Tickets for the concert cost £15 for adults, £4 for students and £1 for accompanied children under 16.
