Katherine Pugh, a gymnast from Welwyn Garden City, is set to represent Great Britain in an international competition.

The Masters will take place in Einbeck, Germany next Friday (October 6), with Katherine being one of a team of 16 gymnasts representing Britain.

The team includes nine women and seven men, who are all aged between 30 and their mid-60s, with the competition requiring squads to have representation from at least three decades.

Katherine trains at Gosling Gymnastics club with coach Steve Byrne, fitting her training around a busy work schedule.

"I am also looking forward to connecting with members of the international gymnastics community, some who I already have connected with through the online gymnastics world.

"It’ll be amazing to finally meet in person!”

Speaking of her participation in the sport, beyond the age of 30, Katherine added: "Gymnastics as an adult is a great way to keep fit as well as make lots of new friends and try new skills.

"There’s lots of adult classes out there so I definitely encourage you to give it a go, even if you didn’t do it before as a child.

“If you are up for competing there are also lots of competitions for adults now, but you can also try the sport and enjoy it for what it is, having fun."
