Nominations were also received for the following special award category:
- Best Public Open Space – Howardsgate and Parkway
- Best Local Authority Display – Howardsgate and Parkway

- Best Sustainable Planting – Anniversary Gardens
Cllr Sandreni Bonfante, executive member for environment, said: "Year after year we have been successful in winning awards at the Anglia In Bloom competition, and 2023 is no exception!
"Without the hard work and dedication of our council officers, contractors, and excellent community volunteers, these accolades would be just a dream, rather than a wonderful reality! Congratulations to everybody involved on these fantastic results.”
Mariana Bitonte, Welwyn Garden City BID Manager, said: “Winning the award for Best BID town at Anglia in Bloom is a wonderful recognition of the great work and dedication that goes in to designing and maintaining such beautiful green spaces and floral displays.
"We are very proud of our town centre, and this award is confirmation that our joint commitment to maintaining and enhancing our environment is the spirit of what it means to be a Garden City."
