Children dressed up and took part in free activities at Hatfield Town Council's community fun day.

The event, which was held on Thursday, August 17 at Birchwood Leisure Centre, saw dragons using a fire hose, rainbow-painted faces holding up riot shields and a team of superheroes playing football.

He added: "The guys that have come down from the police and the fire and rescue services have been great with the kids.

"It's great to see all the smiles on their faces as they clamber inside the vehicles and try on the uniform."
