Plans to build 63 new homes near Potters Bar have been approved by Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.
Developer Cala Homes has now received permission to build on land off Hawkshead Road in Little Heath, with the site set to include 25 new affordable homes.
There will also be wide choice from two and three-bedroom affordable homes, and three to five-bedroom private homes.
"We’re thrilled to have received consent to deliver much-needed, high quality homes in Little Heath," said Neil Farnsworth, head of planning at Cala Homes in North Home Counties.
"This scheme provides many benefits to the community thanks to the generous affordable housing provision and broad range of options for people looking to move to or within the area.

"Achieving consent for this community is testament to the dedication of our team to understand local wants and needs before submitting our proposals.
"It’s also an example of our commitment to delivering sustainable communities that work for both people and wildlife. We look forward to delivering this wonderful new community."
The development will focus on the environment, with every home on the site equipped with electric vehicle charging points and air source heat pumps a low carbon technology that extracts heat from the outside air to help residents reduce their carbon emissions.
A range of measures to support local wildlife will also be included, with swift bricks and bird boxes, bat boxes and bee bricks, while many of the new trees planted will be nectar rich fruit trees.
