Springmead Primary School in Welwyn Garden City has achieved the School Games Silver Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year.
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012 and facilitated by the Youth Sports Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition.
Sporting achievements at the school this year include competing in a range of activities such as golf, swimming, athletics, rugby, speed stacking and football.
The school has also implemented playground leaders, which means Year 5 children organise playground games for the rest of the school.
'Walking Wheelie Wednesdays' encourage children to ditch the car in favour of physical exercise, and footballer Lily Woodham visited to lead the whole school in training circuits.
