The collection of food and recycling bins in Welwyn Hatfield will be suspended as strikes by waste contractor Urbaser are set to go ahead from next week.
The strike will run every day until a resolution is reached, which may plunge the borough in chaos, with Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council confirming that food and recycling collections temporarily suspended during the strikes.
"There will be temporary changes to waste collection and cleansing services from Monday, June 19, due to industrial action at Urbaser," said a council spokesman.

"We understand disruption to our usual services will be a significant inconvenience to residents across the borough and we will continue to work with Urbaser to minimise interruptions to waste collections, whilst encouraging both Urbaser and Unite the Union to engage in discussions and find a swift resolution to this dispute.
"We sincerely apologise for the disruption caused because of the strike and we ask for patience and understanding at this difficult time."
Residents who have subscribed to garden waste collections will also see the service suspended, with the council's statement continuing: "We understand that the suspension of the garden waste service will be a frustration for those who have signed up for the service.
"We will not be offering any refunds for non-collection.
"We will take into account the impact of service disruption this year when we plan for next years’ subscription."
