Green Lanes in Hatfield will be closed for a number of days following a water leak.
Affinity Water closed the road today for utility repair and maintenance works.
Work is set to continue until Wednesday, May 10.
Herts County Council has asked residents to use alternative routes and avoid the area.
According to one.network, the maintenance works are likely to cause delays to residents.

Affinity Water said: "We are currently carrying out essential maintenance in your area, this is ongoing work to improve our service to you.

"Usually there will be little disruption to road users during these types of works which can include stop tap replacements, meter fits, leak detection and fixes among others."
