Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is currently a Conservative majority, with the Tories having 26 members compared to 12 for the Liberal Democrats and 10 for Labour.

16 seats in 16 wards are up for election on May 4, with eight of those currently held by the Conservatives, five by the Liberal Democrats and three Labour.
Some long-serving members could be at risk too, with Labour's Hatfield Central councillor Kieran Thorpe, and Jonathan Boulton, Conservative member for Brookmans Park and Little Heath seeing their seats up for election.

The pair have been on the council since 2016, as has Conservative Tony Kingsbury, but could we see a new leader of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council with his seat also up for election?
