Welwyn Hatfield has been awarded Tree City of the World recognition for the fourth consecutive year.

The area is one of 168 places to be recognised across 21 countries, and only one of 19 awardees in the UK.

The council's tree officers manage over 30,000 individual trees as well as various woodland areas, open spaces, allotment sites, micro-orchards and several Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
