A dog who is "longest resident" at the RSPCA's Southridge Animal Centre in Potters Bar is looking for a loving new home.
Jake, a 10-year-old German Shepherd, has been at the centre since 2020 after a change in his family's circumstances meant they could no longer keep him.
A "loyal" and "affectionate" dog, according to RSPCA volunteer dog walker Donna Barrett, there are hopes that Jake will find a home very soon.

"Jake is a special favourite with all the dog walkers," she said.
"He has a patient, hopeful look in his gentle brown eyes when you approach his kennel, and he greets you with a big smiles of joy when he realises it is his turn to go out for a walk."

The RSPCA believe Jake would be the perfect addition to an individual or adult-only home, with people who have experience of German Shepherds or other large dog breeds.
Staff say the adorable dog also enjoys trips to Starbucks for a puppucino and quiet walks away from other dogs.
