The Lord-Lieutenant of Hertfordshire visited Hertingfordbury Cowper Primary School as a part of the Queen's Green Canopy project.
On Friday, February 24, Robert Voss CBE planted an elm tree in the Hertford school.
The tree sapling had been planted last year as a part of the Year 2 children's science curriculum and a linked project with Panshanger Park's Wildlife Officer.

“They have spent the last year nurturing the tree saplings so they can be strong enough to be planted in our environment.”
One of the trees marks the entrance to Panshanger Park, and another is now planted on the school grounds.
The others have become a part of the 17,000 trees planted at Panshanger Park.
