In a bid to move forward from her traumatic childhood, a brave author from Kimpton has published the sequel to her life story.
Amelia Hendrey, the author of the 2018 book 'What Nobody Knew', has written a second part of her story titled 'Let Go of What You Know' - which gives the readers of the first book closure to many unanswered questions they were left with.
In a bid to give other victims strength, the first book told the harrowing true story of how Amelia's dad sexually abused her after she was abandoned by her mother at the age of three.
Amelia, 39, said: "The first book had quite a fan base and people were asking me what happened to different people in the book. So they wanted to know what is going on now."
"The second one is about being a mother while being motherless with all the abnormalities of the trauma that I went through; where I am just trying to fit into society to try and be normal.
"I didn't want the stigma of all of the bad things to follow me.
"So I reinvented myself, I changed my name and this is what I put in the book.
"I did that to leave it all behind me and move forward and live the life that I should've had to start with."

In the five years of the first book being published, Amelia sold 5,000 copies and hopes for the success to continue with her second book.
The Ocado personal shopper, who works in Hatfield and lives in Kimpton, was terrified when the first book was published and thought she'd only sell five copies.
"I was terrified because all the secrets that I'd never told anyone were out there for the world to see," she added.
Amelia's husband, who does not wish to be named, pushed her to share her stories so that she could help other people with similar experiences, which Amelia says is "spot on".
In order to shift to more lighthearted stories, Amelia - a passionate cat lover and a cat-sitter - also hopes to release her third book this year, which has nothing to do with her life stories, but everything to do with cats.
