A Hatfield based non-profit organisation has raised over £30,000 in a county-wide initiative to help struggling individuals and charities this winter.
Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF) is an independent charity that encourages local giving.
Donations received are turned into grants to support grassroots charities and voluntary groups working to improve the lives of vulnerable people and create stronger local communities in Hertfordshire.

The foundations 'Cost-of-Living Winter Appeal' raised over £30,000 to fund projects supporting children living in poverty and those struggling with food and fuel bills.
Helen Gray, foundation director of the Hatfield charity said: “We are very grateful for the response we’ve had so far from people across Hertfordshire to our Cost-of-Living Winter Appeal.
"The need for support is greater than ever. The latest data shows that more than 55,000 households in Hertfordshire are living in fuel poverty, and this is rising despite local and national government support.
“Now that the cold winter weather has arrived the cost-of-living crisis is having a profound impact on the lives of many people across Hertfordshire.
“I encourage anyone who is in the position to do so to please support our appeal and give to help others in Hertfordshire.”
Donations to the appeal will be used to help pay for fuel, fund local food projects and support local charities, which are themselves facing huge challenges.
