After reports of bullying and knife offences at Hatfield Galleria, Herts police are looking to engage with young people in the outlet mall to tackle the problems.
A spokesperson from the Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “The Galleria attracts large numbers of young people and the vast majority cause no issues.

“However, on occasion there are some who engage in anti-social behaviour (ASB) and the local Safer Neighbourhood Team have been working hard to tackle this.
“Any incidents of ASB are always reviewed by the Safer Neighbourhood Team with proportionate action taken."
In partnership with the management of The Galleria, the team has set up a dedicated engagement hub in the Galleria to help deter ASB and give residents the opportunity to speak with officers face-to-face for advice.
Herts Police added: “Since the engagement hub was introduced, there has been in reduction in reports of ASB.
"As part of this engagement work, the team also has a dedicated officer who has worked with partner agencies and schools to refer individuals to youth clubs and community activities, therefore tackling youth boredom and diverting them away from crime.
“This has included visiting the young people at home and engaging with the parents, as well as issuing banning orders and behavioural contracts.”
