A photographer who snapped a stunning shot of Stanborough Lakes has seen his picture selected among the winners of a calendar competition.

James Young took the photo early on a cold October morning last year, and shows his dog, Buster, enjoying the sunrise over the local beauty spot.

The shot was selected as one of 12 images for the 2023 Geoplace calendar and will be the image for October.

"I took the photo at around 7.30am on a dog walk in October," James explained.

"These images get downloaded and used by thousands of people across the UK each year, so I think it’s a good advert for our borough."
