This Christmas children that are at a disadvantage can have a festive holiday under the HAPpy programme in Hatfield.
Hertfordshire County Council has granted funds for the project and has linked up with Herts Sports Partnership and the Hertfordshire Community Foundation, to organise a programme for the school holidays aimed at countering the triple inequalities facing Hertfordshire’s most disadvantaged young people – holiday hunger, physical inactivity and social isolation.
Forever Young People's HAPpy camp will take place in Hatfield at the Travellers Lane Leisure Centre.
The camp will take place between 10am and 2pm on December 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30, as well as January 3 and 4.
The camp will include sports including football, dodgeball, table tennis, rounders and much more.
There will also be themed crafts for each day, a variety of team building activities and boardgames.
This camp is suitable for young people aged 7 to 11 with mixed abilities and free meals are provided with snacks every day for the participants as well.
