There was plenty of festive cheer in Welwyn Garden City this weekend as the town’s hosted its popular Christmas light switch-on.
Viral sensations Woody and Kleiny switched on the illuminations and gave away £1,000 to a lucky audience member, after crowds had been wowed by young singer and Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist Immi Davis.
Thousands came out for the event, much to the delight of Lee from organisers Welwyn Garden City BID.
“It was wonderful to see the community come together to kick start the festive shopping period in our town centre,” he said.
“We look forward to this event every year and the energy and atmosphere in the town was amazing.”
“We strive to be at the heart of our community and we are extremely honoured to have been part of the amazing Christmas Light Event this year,” added Ashley Howard, CEO and founder of community partners, Forever Young People.
“We are forever proud of our team and loved being asked to provide the Winter Workshops to hundreds of children and families.”
