Community and voluntary organisations have the chance to secure extra funding when applications for Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council community grants open next week.

Small Community Grants will launch on the November 7, with applications open until January 8, 2023 and up to £2,000 of funding available for successful applicants.

The impact of the grants is already far-reaching, with organisations including Stevenage Football Foundation, Northaw Community Orchard, Hatfield House Chamber Music Festival, and the 6th Welwyn Garden City Guide Group all receiving a welcome financial boost to help them continue their work.

“It’s wonderful to see so many local groups benefiting from the Small Community Grants, and I would encourage many more groups to think of this resource when they are looking for funding,” said Cllr Terry Mitchinson, executive member for leisure and community at Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council.

“Creating safe and healthy communities is vital to our health and wellbeing, and I encourage residents to explore the many activities on offer across the borough – and make full use of the amazing work these local groups are doing.”
