A family boiler and engine business was presented with the Queen's Award for Enterprise by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire at their Welwyn Garden City home.
KANE is a second-generation family firm supplying boiler and engine analysers to heating engineers and technicians worldwide.
In a ceremony attended by family and friends on Friday, October 21, Lord Lieutenant Robert Voss congratulated KANE, saying this is the most prestigious award a business can win.
CEO Jonathan Kane thanked the Lord Lieutenant and praised KANE colleagues, saying: "We're the UK's only family business making engine and boiler analysers to win this award for innovation delivering KANE CARE 5 Star trusted after sales service to customers in Hertfordshire and worldwide."
Mr Kane also pledged £5,000 to Hertfordshire Community Foundation, of which the Lord Lieutenant is president and which supports over 100 local charities.
He said: "Hertfordshire is rich in opportunity but also has problems HCF helps address daily - we're proud to support its great work."
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise was started by the late Queen and Prince Philip in 1965, and allow winning businesses to display the Queen's Award Eblem for five years. It is as yet undecided whether King Charles will continue the awards in the Queen's memory or rename them the King's Awards.
