A Welwyn Garden City school is looking for new governors to support it in its vision.

Templewood Primary and Nursery School aims to create an environment where "everyone at Templewood is valued and treated with respect," and where "children fulfil their potential and learn without limits through an ambitious and inclusive curriculum”.

The governering body is there to offer strategic oversight and ensure financial probity, as it works to ensure children receive a high-quality education.

For the school to do this it will need governors who are enthusiastic, can ask the right questions and have a range of skills and experiences, specifically in health and safety, safeguarding and HR.

School governor and headteacher Katherine Martindill said: "I believe being a school governor is a truly rewarding experience. As a governor, you give back and make a difference to the young people in the school.

“I have been the headteacher at Templewood school since September 2021 and love being a part of this community. Ofsted graded Templewood as requiring improvement in October 2021, and we are currently on a rapid journey of school improvement, making this a really exciting time to join us to support and influence change alongside an ambitious team!"
