A teenager hit by a car in Hatfield today was taken to hospital but escaped serious injuries.
Although an air ambulance was called to West View near The Airfield pub at about 1pm, paramedics decided to take the 13-year-old girl to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage by road.
Joy Hale, a spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said: “She had a shoulder injury, although she will be checked over to make sure nothing else is going on.
“She had a lucky escape.”
