The music of Queen will rock Knebworth House again when movie Bohemian Rhapsody is screened at this summer’s open-air cinema.
Oscar-winning Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody (12A) will round off four nights of cinema under the stars on the side lawn at the Hertfordshire stately home this July.
Rock legends Queen played their final concert with singer Freddie Mercury as frontman at the Hertfordshire stately home on August 9, 1986.
It was the last show of the band’s hugely successful Magic Tour and the film screening of Bohemian Rhapsody will be a poignant occasion.

A foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, Bohemian Rhapsody can be seen in the grounds of Knebworth House on Sunday, July 7.
The movie stars Academy Award winner Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury alongside Midsomer Murders’ Gwilym Lee as Brian May.
The Luna Cinema will return to Knebworth Park from Thursday, July 4 to Sunday, July 7, 2019, with A Star is Born and Abba-inspired movie sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again also on the film schedule.
The Knebworth House 2019 Luna Cinema season kicks off with Batman (12A) on Thursday, July 4.
The 1989 movie features Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne, Jack Nicholson as the Joker, and Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale.
Having witnessed his parents’ brutal murder as a child, millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) fights crime in Gotham City disguised as Batman, a costumed hero who strikes fear into the hearts of villains.

But when the Joker (Jack Nicholson) seizes control of Gotham’s criminal underworld, Batman must face his most ruthless nemesis ever, while protecting both his identity and his love interest, reporter Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger).
Directed by Tim Burton, with music composed by Prince and Danny Elfman, this production is a true classic and you might even notice a familiar house starring on the big screen.
For scenes of Batman were shot at Knebworth House, with the Lytton family’s gothic mansion doubling up as the exterior of Wayne Manor.
Michael Keaton and Kim Basinger also filmed scenes of the blockbuster in the banqueting hall at Knebworth.
The Batman screening will coincide with the launch of this summer’s film and TV exhibition, which will be taking place at Knebworth House during July and August.
Three hit movie musicals will follow the comic book adventures of the Caped Crusader at this summer’s Luna Cinema takeover.
Fans of A Star is Born (15) can relive the sizzling on-screen chemistry between Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, and sing along to Oscar-winning song Shallow, on Friday, July 5.
Seasoned musician Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper), a famous country music singer privately battling an alcohol and drug addiction, plays a concert in California.
After the show, Jackson visits a drag bar where he witnesses a performance by Ally (Lady Gaga), a waitress and singer-songwriter.
Ally has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer, until ‘Jack’ coaxes her into the spotlight.
Jackson invites Ally to go on tour with him, and they form a romantic relationship.
But as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.
Abba fans will be thanking The Luna Cinema for the music when Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again is shown outdoors on the big screen at Knebworth on Saturday, July 6.
The follow-up to 2008 feel-good smash Mamma Mia!, the jukebox musical romantic comedy once again stars Amanda Seyfried, Julie Walters, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Dominic Cooper and Colin Firth.
And joining the cast are Lily James, who plays a young Donna Sheridan, and Cher, who stars as Donna’s mother and Sophie’s grandmother.
Five years after the events of Mamma Mia!, a pregnant Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) prepares for the grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna on the Greek island of Kalokairi, as she learns more about her mother’s past.
In 1979, a young Donna (Meryl Streep, Lily James) graduates from Oxford’s New College with Tanya (Christine Baranski, Jessica Keenan Wynn) and Rosie (Julie Walters, Alexa Davies) and embarks on a series of adventures throughout Europe.
On her journeys, she makes the acquaintances of Sophie’s three potential fathers – Harry, Bill and Sam.
Doors open at 8pm each night, and the screenings will start at 9.30pm.
