FOR most football fans, walking out on to the hallowed turf of Wembley is just a mere dream.
However, for one youngster it has become no more than a walk in the park!
As tonight (Wednesday) Lauren Englefield will make her third appearance at the new home of football.
The Potters Bar girl will be one of the fortunate mascots to lead out the England team against Ukraine in the vital World Cup qualifying clash.
But lucky Lauren, who goes to Pope Paul School, told the Potters Bar Edition, she is "very excited", even though she has already played on the pitch and been a mascot for an England Under-21 game.
"I'm really looking forward to it, all my friends are really jealous.
"I did it with the Under-21s against Portugal and it was great.
"I came out with Michael Mancienne [Chelsea defender] before, so this time I hope I come out with someone like Frank Lampard."
The football mad youngster, of Coopers Lane, was given the opportunity after she was entered into a competition at Nationwide building society by parents Paul and Gill, who own The Chequers pub.
The 10-year-old added: "It might be a bit scary, but I'm very excited.
"When I played at Wembley there was nobody there so it wasn't too scary.
"Nobody believes me when I say I've played there and now I'm going to be a mascot too."
Lauren, whose idol is England Ladies' captain Faye White, met World Cup-winning hero Geoff Hurst and received a medal from former boss Steve McClaren on the day she played at Wembley.
Mum Gill said Lauren had been "kicking a ball since the moment she learnt how to walk".
She said "Lauren just loves football, she always has done; she never stops playing.
"From when she was young she has always dreamed to play for England, at the Olympics and win a gold medal."
Look out for Lauren on ITV1 tonight. Kick off is at 8pm.
