A STROKE survivor from Welwyn will appear on tonight’s (Tuesday) episode of the Channel 4 TV show The Undateables.

Sarah Scott was 18 when she suffered a severe stoke during an English lesson that changed her life, leaving her with a condition called expressive aphasia.

She can no longer read or write fluently and needs help from her mum for things that other young people don’t think twice about, such as text messaging and using Facebook.

But now three and a half years later she has made a remarkable recovery and become a youtube star after posting videos of her recovery on the streaming site.

Sarah started making videos and putting them on YouTube, to document how much her speech was improving and her first video now has more than 250,000 views.

“She gets a lot of fan mail,” said Sarah’s mum, Joanie when she was interviewed last year by the Welwyn Hatfield Times.

“Someone even wrote her a song once. People from all over the world watch her videos, and they are shown in schools and to doctors.

Sarah also acts as a media spokesperson for the Stroke Association and runs with her mum a support group for stroke victims under the age of 55, who meet in Welwyn Garden City on the first Thursday of each month.

With the help of Flame Introductions, a bespoke personal introduction agency, and Stars in the Sky, a specialist dating agency for people with learning difficulties, this touching series explores the realities of looking for love.

This will be the second series of the hit programme and will be on Channel 4 at 9pm.
