West End and Broadway musical theatre superstar Elaine Paige will be in concert at The Alban Arena in St Albans later this year as part of a series of UK shows.
The star of Evita, Sunset Boulevard, Cats and Chess will perform songs from her illustrious career alongside an array of her favourite tracks by contemporary songwriters at the Arena on Sunday, November 26.
Tickets for the St Albans show go on general sale from Friday, April 7 at 10am.
The First Lady of Musical Theatre has performed live in concert all over the world.
As a recording artist, Elaine has released 22 solo albums, including four multi-platinum records, and has featured on seven cast recordings.
She has enjoyed major worldwide hits with songs such as Memory from Cats, and I Know Him So Well from Chess.
The acclaimed singer’s new UK tour follows on from the huge successes of Elaine’s last series of concerts at the end of 2016, which had audiences and critics raving.
She said: “I’m so excited about taking this concert to more venues across the UK, we had such a great time last year.
“It allows me to do something completely different, a brand new show celebrating songwriters I love such as Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Jim Webb, Burt Bacharach, Lennon & McCartney, Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber... the list goes on… as well as many of my hits.
“This music has been the soundtrack to all our lives, not just mine.
“And it’s the ideal opportunity to perform in an intimate way.”
Reviewing the show, Manchester Finest wrote: “With her biggest hit Memory from Cats and With One Look from Sunset Boulevard as part of the set list, it’s a moment you don’t want to miss.”
Tickets for the St Albans concert, the last date of the tour, cost from £37.50, with VIP option available.
