Welwyn Garden City have captured former favourite Cyrus Babaie from Potters Bar Town.

The young forward had left in the summer, seeking a move up the pyramid, and he almost found one at National League Barnet after a trial.

He ended up at Potters Bar under former City boss Max Mitchell but was unable to tie down a regular starting position as the Scholars suffered a horrendous start to their Isthmian League Premier Division campaign.

The 22-year-old, who spent five years with the Citizens, was named WGC players' player of the season.

He goes straight into Marc Weatherstone's squad for the visit of Bedford Town tomorrow (Saturday).
